Nelda was born in Tilmon Texas to parents Arthur Benton and Nona May Jackson Franks.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Imogene Taylor, and brother, Vores W. Franks.
Nelda is survived by her children, Joel Bryant Kirkpatrick III, Robbie Louise Roberts and husband Richard, Nancy Lynn Thetford, Steven Glen Franks and wife Nancy; a brother Harold D. Franks and wife Helen; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
