"J. T. Rutherford died at his home on South Main Street in Lockhart at an early hour Friday August 15th, aged 76 years, 4 months, 28 days.
The body was laid to rest in Jeffrey Grave Yard at McMahan in the afternoon of the same day.
Religious services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. A. O. Hinkle of the Lockhart Baptist church.
Mr. Rutherford was married to Miss Mary Cochran in 1876.
Deceased is survived by two sons and two daughters."
