Veteran WWII"William "Bill" Taylor, 75. of McMahan, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997. He was born in McMahan on April 13, 1921, the son of John Hugh and Emma Williams Taylor.
He was a member of the McMahan Baptist Church. He married Jimmie Faye Secrest on Sept. 16, 1949 in Uvalde. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II Co. F. 141st Inf., 36 Division. He received a Purple Heart along with many other medals and honorable citations.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Faye Taylor of McMahan; son, Johnny W. Taylor and wife Diana of Lockhart; daughter, Peggy Taylor Voigt and husband Weston of Lockhart, and five grandchildren." Lockhart Post-Register newspaper, Jan. 9, 1997, page 12
