Taylor, E. L.

E. "Luke" L. Taylor
Born 9/10/1857
Died 1/17/1924 in Taylorsville
"E. L. (Luke) Taylor, aged about 70 years, was found in an unconscious condition in his barn lot in the Taylorsville community Wednesday afternoon and without rallying died several hours later.
Careful examination by physician did not sustain the theory that he had been kicked by a mule, and his sudden demise is supposed to have resulted from a stroke of apoplexy.
He was a stockman, spent much time in the saddle and is said to have been riding during the day.
The funeral services, with Elder Matt Baker, a minister of the Primitive Baptist church, in charge, will be held at McMahan about two o’clock this afternoon, after which interment will be made in Jeffrey Grave Yard.
Luke Taylor was one of the best known men in the county and was unusually vigorous for a man of his age."
