J. Biggs, Jr. of Alice; and two grandchildren.
Bro. Pete and Sister Alice joined Bethel Church during the Association fourth Sunday in July, 1952. They were baptized by Elder S. A. Nite.
She was one of our most devoted members. She was raised in another faith, but when she was converted to the truth, her faithfulness and zeal was an inspiration to the rest of the Church. She was a good singer, and she and her family traveled many miles to Sacred Harp singings.
During all of her illness her courage and patience was an inspiration to those who came in contact with her. in May of 1971 she wrote a poem to the Church in appreciation of their many acts of kindness during her illness. The latter part of the poem follows, which expresses her faith, hope and charity better than I: "Now we must raise our voices and smile through joyful tears, For He has gently led us throughout so many years. Yes, sing His Grace and Glory till time and world shall end, And praise His name eternally, His blessed Name, Amen." Written by request of Bethel Church, Curtis K Owen, Church Clerk"
