"OBITUARY - Lucy Lorena Stephens, second child and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stephens, died at her home near McMahan, with an attack of typhoid fever. the death angel came at 7:30 o’clock Thursday morning, Dec. 11, 1919, to remove her from this world of suffering to her bright and heavenly home. "Where sweet comfort, joy and gladness never can decrease or end, and where kind and loving Jesus is her Sovereign and her friend. Her stay on earth was short, she was called at the tender age of 18 years, 4 months and 3 days. She was loved by all who knew her, and among her schoolmates she was a favorite.
Funeral services were held at 5 o’clock Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. (sic) Richard Cole. the remains were laid to rest in the McMahan Cemetery where they will await the resurrection.
She is survived by her father, mother, two sisters and three brothers."
