"LORENE FOX - The death angel has been in our midst and darkened the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Fox by taking from them their little daughter Lorene.
She was born December 16, 1925, and died February 16, 1927. For only fourteen short months did her sunny presence gladden the hearts of all around her before the treasure was taken away.
her death was due to blood-poisoning caused from a burn. While playing before the fireplace she lost her balance and fell into the fire burning her right hand severely. In spite of all that medical aid and the best of nursing could accomplish, all that willing hands could do she suffered for three weeks until just at the dawn of one of the lovliest (sic) of days her spirit winged its flight to God.
To know little Lorene was to love her, and her bright smiles and winsome ways will be missed by all who knew her. She was laid to rest in the McMahan cemetery.
The grief-stricken parents, four brothers, Keeton, Edward, Bryan and Wesley Fox; and four sisters, Mrs. Melvin White, Mrs. Clarence Williams, Mayme and Reva Fox are left to mourn her loss.
To the bereaved family we extend condolence. Let us remember that our loss is Heaven’s gain, and that our great sorrow is a part of the plan of Him who doeth all things well. -(signed) A FRIEND"
